Our History

Originally from Bordeaux where our family owns 3 wine estates, we fell in love with South Africa during our many travels to the country.

Our dream was to combine both, the Old & the New World, to make wines close to our vision of perfection. Therefore, we decided to purchase this boutique wine estate of 32 hectares (including 24 on vines) located in Simonsberg valley in 2004.

Manual harvesting, selection of the best grapes, French oak and Acacia barrel ageing, combined with a French "savoir-faire" from our South-African winemaker Jos Van Wyk, will lead you to explore some of the finest wines produced in the region.

Our People

Jos

After working for himself, owning a successful business, Charles Axel Paul Rodenbach joined Marianne Wine Farm in August 2020. Born and raised in France, Charles moved to South Africa at the age of 23 with his family. He is full of ideas and sees obstacles as opportunities. Charles is ready for any challenge that he appears in his path. He has a huge heart and will take on the responsibility of the general manager as if it was his own farm. A key asset that Charles has is that he is very handy and fix anything.
Deorette
Finance & Admin Manager
Deorette is a real “Paarliet”, always full of life and energy. You hear her laugh from miles. After a career in the banking sector, Deorette joined the farm in June and brought with her rigour, professionalism and joie de vivre.
Lou Barthes
French Brand Ambassador
Originally from Toulouse (Fr), Lou grew up in a family combining love of travel, rugby, and wine. After moving overseas several times during her childhood, her family finally settled back in the South of France. It is while studying business that she learnt more about the wine world. After a first internship, she knew she wanted to work in that field. Her love for travelling then lead her to South Africa during her school gap year. Her story with Marianne then started in 2018 when she did an internship at Marianne’s Tasting Room. After 6 months, she had to go back to France to finish her Master’s degree in Bordeaux but eventually joined back the Marianne dream team early 2022 as the new French Brand Ambassador!
Cisca
Hospitality & Tasting Room Manager
Cisca is a born and bred “ Stellenbosser” and by growing up in the winelands, she developed a real love and passion for wine. After school she took a “4 year gap year” and travelled all over the USA. There she developed her love for people and taking on new challenges. After returning to South Africa, she got her Diploma in Human Resource Management. Together with her passion for wine and her big love for people, the tasting room is where she can have the best of both worlds.
