Our History

Originally from Bordeaux where our family owns 3 wine estates, we fell in love with South Africa during our many travels to the country.

Our dream was to combine both, the Old & the New World, to make wines close to our vision of perfection. Therefore, we decided to purchase this boutique wine estate of 32 hectares (including 24 on vines) located in Simonsberg valley in 2004.

Manual harvesting, selection of the best grapes, French oak and Acacia barrel ageing, combined with a French "savoir-faire" from our South-African winemaker Jos Van Wyk, will lead you to explore some of the finest wines produced in the region.

Our People

French, Afrikaans, English, Italian you name it! Jos is the perfect blend of all of these cultures and strong on different experiences in both, the New- and Old "wine world", (including cellar work under guidance of the famous Michel Rolland) he is the perfect incarnation of Marianne's spirit.

After working for himself, owning a successful business, Charles Axel Paul Rodenbach joined Marianne Wine Farm in August 2020. Born and raised in France, Charles moved to South Africa at the age of 23 with his family. He is full of ideas and sees obstacles as opportunities. Charles is ready for any challenge that crosses his path. He has a huge heart and will take on the responsibility of the general manager as if it was his own farm. A key asset that Charles has is that he is very handy and fix anything.

Four years later, she rejoined the team, but this time as the French Brand Ambassador, bringing with her a passion for wine, a love for people, and, of course, her French touch!
